Adopting a pet is a lifetime commitment, so decide wisely. All these organisations need volunteers, donations, contributions and involvement from animal lovers.

SPCA

SPCA

As a pet is a lifetime of commitment with considerable responsibilities involved, the SPCA may request family members and/or domestic helpers to come and view/interact/approve the animal to be adopted.

Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hamsters, mice, gerbils … no animal can be reserved over the telephone or via email and the SPCA reserves the right not to approve an adoption.

Gives their ‘furkids’ a roof over their head, a bowl of food that is cooked with love each day and a safe, healthy and happy environment and a safe haven away from the rough and tumble of the streets and wilderness. A small, close-knit outfit who focus not on the number of dogs they can rescue but the quality of care they can provide for their existing charges.

Save our Street Dogs

Save Our Street Dogs (SOSD)

SOSD actively advocates against the culling of street dogs – who often lead harsh and miserable lives, often as a result of the land on which they live on being taken over for the purposes of construction. SOSD rescues and re-homes as many stray dogs and puppies as their limited resources permit. Wounded dogs are given good veterinary care and nursed back to health before finding them homes. SOSD adopts a mandatory screening process for every potential adoption to ensure that all goes well for the rescued dog and family.

SOSD focuses on mongrels who are extremely intelligent and generally tend to be healthier than purebreds given their varied genetic makeup. Street dogs make exceedingly loyal pets, grateful for a home and for the love shown to them.
