Over 15,000 air-conditioned taxis operate 24/7.
Hail cabs from taxi stands alongside major roads, hotels, shopping centres, MRT stations etc. and at the curb side.
Depending on the taxi company, taxis bookings can be made via the telephone, SMS, the Internet or an interactive voice response system.
All taxis are metered.
It is difficult to get a taxi during peak hours,     when it rains, and at around midnight.

Drivers with red destination labels on their     dashboard or windscreen are changing     shifts and will accept passengers travelling     in that general direction only.

Some taxi drivers are licensed tour guides.     Visitors who prefer not to join group tours     or follow fixed itineraries can call the     regular hotline numbers for the individual     taxi companies and book a licensed tour     guide/taxi driver.

London Cabs, Maxi cabs & limousines     charge between S$ 35.00 to S$ 45.00 an     hour.

Other taxis charge between S$ 25.00 to
    S$ 35.00 an hour.

The flag down fare begins at S$ 2.40, increasing by 10 cents per 200 to 225 metres after the first kilometre, depending on the taxi company.

Every 10 seconds of waiting time is charged at 10 cents.

There is no extra fee for flagging down a Mercedes taxi.
