Bukit Gombak Park

The park lies on a hill 45m above sea level, the size of seven football fields, with two playgrounds and a butterfly garden. Each playground has its own swings, slides and see-saws. A 400m looped trek leads to the butterfly garden. A 480 sq metre dog run is located on a hill with a sloped terrain for dogs to run unleashed.
The play areas are inspired by nature and integrated with the terrain. Mini hills and rock-climbing holds lead to the beginning of slides, gentle introductions to climbing and rock climbing. The main paths are stroller and wheelchair-friendly, but there are steps and side paths. There is a cafe (closed on Mondays) beside the carpark.

Therapeutic Garden, Jurong Lake Gardens

Designed to promote well-being through close contact with nature, this garden is 3,100 sq meters, divided into two parts, one for adults, one for kids. The kids’ garden has play features designed for children with mild autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorders. It is designed with various sensory zones (for smell, touch, sound and sight) and play elements, such as musical play instruments, a wheelchair-friendly crawling trellis, a labyrinth with glow in the dark pathways and floor imprints of the animals and insects found in Jurong Lake Gardens. It is also connected to the adult’s section of the Therapeutic Garden and adjoins the Butterfly Maze to provide more opportunities for young visitors to experience the therapeutic effects of greenery.
The Lake Gardens’ Butterfly Maze has more child-friendly areas. Signboards inform about pollination and the life cycle of butterflies, the different patterns in nature, a wooden recipe book offers info on making a refreshing lime juice with sour plum, swings, slides, percussion instruments and butterflies in a maze.
Check the weather before visiting as there are not many shelters in case of rain. Remember the sunscreen and mosquito repellent !
